Our Opportunities


We are looking for enthusiastic, organised, fun and reliable staff members to help deliver our sport specific and multi sport & activity courses throughout the country.

Activate Camps is the leading provider of active and inspiring childcare across the UK. Each year we operate over 150 course week, delivering multi sport & activity camps, together with specific sports driven courses including the Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy, the Louis Smith Gymnastics Academy and the International Netball Roadshow.

We provide a unique childcare service for parents, combining sport, activities, school study support, self exploration and peer interaction. We are more than just sport; we are "Active and Inspiring Childcare".

We have several positions available on different courses throughout the country. These roles include:

  • Camp Manager – An organised individual who is responsible for the overall running of a camp including dealing with coaches, parents and children. A main role of a camp manager is to ensure all administrational duties are complete and up to date in line with Activate and OFSTED regulations, as well as maintain the smooth running of the course.
  • Head Coach – A qualified and experienced coach who will take on some of the administrative responsibilities on smaller camps, but who will be the main point of contact for all coaches and all matters to do with coaching on the course.
  • Coach – A qualified and experienced person who will create fun and educational sport sessions that their group will learn and develop through.
  • Activity Leader – An experienced person who wishes to create fun and educational activity sessions that their group will learn and develop through.
  • Assistant Coach - An individual who is enthusiastic about the sport and looking to further their development working alongside more experienced and qualified coaches.
  • Volunteer/Work Experience – Individuals who wish to gain experience in the sports industry by working on our courses.

National Citizen Service is a social development programme aimed at 16 – 17 year olds.

On the programme you will be working closely with young adults on a residential basis to mentor and deliver a variety of different activities; from team building exercises, teaching life skills and supporting the delivery of a social action project, guiding your group through each stage of the programme culminating in their graduation.

We have several positions available in two different locations in the country, Somerset and Bedfordshire. These roles include:

  • Residential Welfare Officer - As a Residential Welfare Officer you will be working closely with all staff and young adults present on each residential phase, to ensure all NCS Activate and facility protocols – behaviour management, mentoring, safeguarding and child protection - are adhered to.
  • Student Liaison Officer - As a Student Engagement Officer, you will be working closely with young adults aged 16 and 17 on a residential basis to mentor, supervise and ensure the smooth communication between all staff and young people. During a residential, you are to ensure involvement strategies are being devised and used in order to enhance overall participation.
  • Activity Leader– As an Activity Team Leader, you will be responsible for young adults aged 16 and 17 on a residential basis, to mentor, supervise and deliver a variety of different activities – from team building exercises, teaching life skills and supporting the planning and delivery of a Social Action Project.
  • Assistant Activity Leader– As an Assistant Activity Team Leader, you will be supporting and working closely with the Activity Team Leader, under their instruction to guide with young adults aged 16 and 17 on a residential basis, to mentor, supervise and deliver a variety of different activities – from team building exercises, teaching life skills and supporting the planning and delivery of a Social Action Project. Guiding your group through each stage of the programme you will conclude with their graduation.

International language schools

We work alongside International Language School providers such as Oxford International Education Group to offer Activity Leader roles on their programmes.

As an Activity Leader, you will work with students from a variety of countries and backgrounds.

To excel in the role you will be out-going, confident and have the ability to plan and deliver fun, engaging, inclusive and safe activity sessions to a variety of different age groups and abilities on a residential basis. As well as delivering exciting activities on site you will lead excursions to major UK cities and be responsible for the welfare of children throughout their residential experience.
